Alberta Water Adventures

Fishing is one of Alberta’s national pastimes, and you won’t be disappointed with the selection awaiting you in the region’s many lakes. Head north of Edmonton to Lesser Slave Lake for one of the best walleye fisheries in North America. You can cast a line to your heart’s content knowing that no one’s going to make you throw that big one back. Alberta has fishing for pike, perch, whitefish, sturgeon, and rainbow, speckled, and brown trout. Sounds like dinner to us.

If the water itself is adventure enough for you, get yourself into a kayak or a raft and set out onto one of the region’s many lakes and streams. The white water rafting in Alberta is excellent, and there are Class I, II and III rapids offering both beginners and more experienced wild water lovers a great ride.

While you’re out there, you might even see Chinook salmon leaping and spawning. We keep telling them to get a room.
