Manitoba Snow Adventures

Nearly everyone’s out in the snow on a clear winter day in Manitoba, whether for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, dog sledding, or snowmobiling. Manitoba’s varied terrain makes for exciting cross-country skiing adventures and the trails around Turtle Mountain offer some of the most beautiful scenery you’ll ever lay eyes on. If you love the great outdoors when it’s all covered in white, strap on a pair of skis and head out into a crystalline world of beauty.

If you’d rather get your heart pumping on a snowy day, hire yourself a snowmobile and head into back-country terrain. The boreal forest makes for great snowmobiling just so long as you keep from upping the excitement a grade too far by disturbing a hibernating bear.

Dog Sledding
If you’d rather get up close and personal with a dog sledding team, hop on and learn how to mush with the best of them for a unique way to explore the countryside. Less engine gunning, more pure animal muscle and face-licking. You’ll be telling stories about it for years – and you’ll probably find yourself coming back to Manitoba for more.
Ice fishing’s another great winter sport in Manitoba, whether you like to sit cozy in an ice shack or tough it out on the lake with a pole and a pickaxe. You won’t be alone out there; the ice fishing in Manitoba is reputed to produce some of the best tasting catch year-round. Test it out for yourself. The worst thing that happens is a darn good dinner.
