Newfoundland and Labrador Family Adventures

If your family loves the outdoors, they’ll be spoiled for sights in Newfoundland and Labrador. Sea animals abound, with the huge population of whales just part of the concert of porpoises, dolphins, and 35,000 species of seabirds including the charming puffins. Take the kids out to see the awe-inspiring jagged rock walls along the North Atlantic or bring them around to the province’s botanical gardens to view unique varieties of arctic and alpine plants unlike anything they’ll have seen before.

If celebration is more their style, they’re in luck. Newfoundland and Labrador has a festival for everything - and we do mean everything. They celebrate muddy holes, for the love of Pete. Any excuse for a rollicking party with music, dancing, competitions, food, and family fun. Take the family to one of the region’s amazing theatre festivals for a night of comedy and drama or to the oldest continuous sporting event in North America, Royal St. John’s Regatta. It's been held every August since 1828. Join the locals in making history once again this year – and stomp in a muddy hole while you’re at it. That’s how people celebrate here.
