Northwest Territories Water Adventures

To go out on the water in the Northwest Territories without dropping a line is something akin to blasphemy. The region is a fishing trophy-seeker’s dream, with clear water and some of the biggest fish slipping around just out of reach.  Many a great angler has met with the catch he’ll tell tales about all his life out on one of the Northwest Territories’ beautiful lakes. The best part? He won’t have to exaggerate. They really are thaaaaaat big.

Great Slave Lake
Head out to the Great Slave Lake, where local natives make their living off the rich population of whitefish and trout. Anglers can cast for lake trout, char, Northern pike and Arctic grayling, and ice-fishing enthusiasts can try their hand for Arctic cod out on the sea ice. It’s some of the best sport fishing in the world, and the most solitary fishermen find their ultimate paradise here: many resorts are so remote they’re only available by via bush plane flight.
