Nunavut Adventures for the Family

Seeing the land come back to life after winter is an unforgettable experience, and the native population of Nunavut joins in celebration of the season every year. Join them for amazing festivals and celebrations, and ask for their help in some of the greatest land adventures available.

Travel by zodiac to walk on coastal cliffs where native bird populations live. Visit each of the ten native communities and learn about their culture, their pastimes, and their favorite outdoor sports. You’re sure to get involved in dog sledding, hiking, skiing, and big game hunting in Nunavut, and you’ll learn a whole new way of approaching each of the activities you thought you knew.

Wilderness
The remotest wildernesses are spread out for the intrepid explorer to conquer one by one, whether by snowshoe, cross-country ski, or snowmobile. Find truly untarnished, hidden places where birds have retreated to safety. You’ll see thousands upon thousands of amazing species like snowy owls, sandhill cranes, gyrfalcons, loons, plovers, and jaegers. If you’re daring enough, travel to Akpatok, where the largest population of Thick-Billed Murres hides.
