Nunavut Snow adventures
Not all adventures in Nunavut are strictly in the snow, but they are most decidedly in ice. Go watch icebergs break up from the coast of Baffin Island and see the giant migration as it makes its way down the alley. You can even go out on the ice for an unforgettable view as the wilderness takes its seasonal turns around you.
Walk to the floe’s edge for some of the most stunning wildlife watching you’ll ever experience. At the edge of the ice floe, whales swim within a few meters of shore, and walrus and seals sun themselves on the floating ice. You may even catch sight of a polar bear cub from your vantage point, where the wilds of the water swirl nearly to your feet.
Nunavut is truly off the beaten track and trekking out into the snowy wilderness is both thrilling and often dangerous. Guides are always available to make sure your trek into the lost wilds is safe, but you’ll be assured that every step you take is further and further into the unknown. True explorers will be at home here.
