Saskatchewan Water Adventures

Saskatchewan means “swift flowing river” in Cree, and the province lives up to its name with some of the most exhilarating white water you’ll ever travel. The Churchill River’s your water for a rafting and kayaking challenge, with heavy rapids, waterfalls, and wild surges that will keep your pulse in your throat and a whoop of joy on your lips.

If you’re more a slow meanderer than a swift-running river runner, take a canoe to paddle some of the same routes as adventurers from centuries before you. Travel the vast wilderness of Saskatchewan through the hundreds of interconnecting lakes and rivers that crisscross this beautiful province. If sailing’s your love, head to Lake Diefenbaker for a prairie breeze that’ll fill your sails with wind and your heart with song.

We’d be remiss if we sent you out on all that water without a rod in hand, though, considering the amazing fishing available in Saskatchewan’s lakes, rivers and streams. Head north for lake trout, Northern pike, and Arctic grayling, or fish pretty much anywhere for walleye and rainbow trout. You’ll find brook trout, yellow perch, and dozens of other fish – cast a line and wait for dinner to come swimming up to you.
